Gretna……Linda Gail Alderson, age 65 of Gretna went home to our Lord on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Duke University Hospital at 1:40 p.m.

Born April 1, 1960 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of Mary Cassidy Ayers and the late Aubrey "Buddy" Ayers.  She was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Ann Ayers and Bonnie Ayers; one brother, David Ayers; and one daughter, Susan Renee Adkins.

Linda had a long career at Sarah Lee in Gretna, VA.  She was a faithful member of Spring Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, VBS, and sang in the choir.  Linda enjoyed spending time with family, helping others and being outdoors.  She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren and furry friends.  She always looked forward to her daily soap operas and weekly shopping trips to Walmart.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Randy Alderson of the residence; one daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Pruitt and husband, Sonny of Hurt; one son, Christopher "Chris" Blair and wife, Anna of Chatham; two brothers, Aubrey Ayers and wife, Linda of Gretna and Doug Ayers of Gretna; one sister, Sue Bandy and husband, Mark of Pittsville; four grandchildren, Chase, Cassidy, Avery and Ashton; her beloved great-grand dog, Chloe Mae Pruitt and dog, Tinker Bell.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Spring Road Baptist Church by Pastor Ronnie Simpson.  Burial will follow in the Scruggs Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Anna Blair, 640 Fairview NORTH, Chatham, VA.
