Altavista……….Lillie Louise King, age 76 of Altavista, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born March 9, 1936 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late, Robert Andrew Mann and Edna Elder Mann. Mrs. King was predeceased by her husband, Willie Odell King; two sons, Billy King and David Gene King; two brothers, Bobby Mann and Ben Mann; and a sister, Della Mae Crews. She was a member of Christian Memorial Church and was a home maker. Mrs. King enjoyed children, yard sales, and gardening.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Odell King of Altavista and Robert Douglas King of Bland; one daughter, Brenda Floyd and husband, Tony of Altavista; one step-son, Jerry King of Gretna; one brother, John Mann of Lynchburg; three sisters, Betty Smith of Brookneal, Mattie Maxey of Brookneal, and Virginia Hailey of Hurt; 10 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dennis Nichols. Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
