Altavista…..Lillian (Sue) Lumpkins Brumfield age 89 of Altavista died Monday, July 15, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehab Center.
Born December 24, 1923 in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late George A. Lumpkins and Annie Pruitt Lumpkins. She was twice married first to the late Henry Worley and then to the late Ira Brumfield. She was predeceased by two sons, Henry Curtis Worley, Jr., and Warren Samuel Worley; a grandson, Billy Joe Worley; two sisters, Reba Ritchie and Dora Baker; and two brothers, Floyd Lumpkins and Junior Lumpkins. She attended Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Piedmont Manufacturing. Mrs. Brumfield was a home maker who enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning and sewing.
She is survived by one son, Edward Worley and wife, Janie of Gretna; one brother, Robert Lumpkins of Hurt; 1 grandchild and 4 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Gretna Burial Park by Elder Marvin Brumfield.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 10 to 10:45 A.M. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
