Lewis Lee Nichols

Gretna..........Lewis Lee Nichols, age 90 of Gretna, formerly of Hurt died Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born August 9, 1920 in Bedford County he was a son of the late Walter Nichols and Lula Frith Nichols Creasy. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Osbey Nichols, Luther Nichols, Bessie Hudson, Catherine Kell and Jennie Mays. Mr. Nichols was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired Supervisor for the Lane Co., and a member of Hurt United Methodist Church. He enjoyed making furniture, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Scruggs Nichols of Gretna; one daughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Thacker and husband Edward of Hurt; one brother, Ford Nichols ; one sister, Pearl Hodnett; one granddaughter, Melissa Thacker Hagood and husband, Mark; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Hagood, Montana Hagood, Lance Hagood and Katherine Hagood.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Gretna Burial Park by Rev. R.G. Rowland.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his granddaughter, Melissa Thacker Hagood, 3365 Pocket Road, Hurt.
