Obituary

Gretna……….William Lester Dalton, age 82 of Gretna died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his residence.
Born January 16, 1933 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Ollie David Dalton and Rosa Ella Tanksley Dalton. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janice Dalton; two sons, Barry Dalton and Jerry Dalton; one step-son, Michael Hubbard; three brothers, Roy Dalton, Clifton "Click" Dalton and M.T. Dalton; and one sister, Alice Gatewood. Mr. Dalton was a former employee of Klopman and following his employment at Klopman he drove a Greyhound Bus. He was an U.S. Army Veteran, a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Waller Dalton of the residence; one son, David Dalton and his wife, Terry of Hurt; one daughter, Lori Wright and her husband, Kevin of Altavista; two step-children, Darlene Hedrick and her husband, James of Gretna and James Hubbard and his wife, Kim of Gretna; two sisters, Jerlene Dalton of Gretna and Eva Woodson of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Don Powell. Burial with Military Honors by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
