Sandy Level……….Leola Ellen Crews Finney, age 92 of Sandy Level died Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Autumn Care of Altavista.

Born April 11, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late William M. Crews and Mallie Hammock Crews. She was predeceased by her husband, William Dudley Finney. Mrs. Finney was a graduate of Climax High School and a home maker.  She loved flowers, gardening, her cats and dogs, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Towler and husband, Archie of Monroe and Nancy Adkins of Roanoke; one sister, Louise Myers of Sandy Level; three grandchildren, Stephanie Friend and husband, Jason, Chris Towler and wife, Allison and Carrie Beard and husband, Rickey; and six great-grandchildren, Ashton Friend, Cailyn Friend, Miranda Towler, Emily Towler, Tyler Beard and Brady Beard.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Ricky Hogan.  Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
