Hurt……….Laura Dowdy Hutcherson, age 93 of Hurt died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Runk and Pratt Liberty Ridge in Lynchburg.

Born April 4, 1925 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late William Davis Dowdy and Georgia Farmer Dowdy.  Mrs. Hutcherson was predeceased by her husband, Oliver "Bea" Burton Hutcherson; three sisters, Edna Vaughn, Ruth Dowdy and Mary Wingfield; and one brother, Fred Dowdy.  She was a member of Hurt United Methodist Church and retired from Piedmont Manufacturing.

She is survived by one son, William "Bill" Hutcherson of Lynchburg; two daughters, Evelyn Hall of Madison Heights and Charlotte Lane and husband, Alan of Altavista; three grandchildren, Craig Lane and wife, Teri of Winston Salem, NC, Ryan Lane and wife, Kim of Forest, and Kevin Lane and wife, Lindsay of Lansdowne, MD; and five great-grandchildren, Davis Lane, Andrew Lane, Connor Lane, Audrey Lane and Josie Lane.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Hurt United Methodist Church by Rev. Bob Thorne.  Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
