Gretna…..Latisha Doss Franklin, age 80 of Gretna died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born May 9, 1934 in Pittsylvania County she was the only daughter of the late Odie Fray Doss and Ora Short Doss. Mrs. Franklin was predeceased by her husband, John Harris Franklin, Jr. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was a home maker. Mrs. Franklin enjoyed flowers, gospel music, visiting with people and she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, David John Franklin and his wife, Bonnie of Gretna; one daughter, Patsy F. Moore and her husband, Ricky of Gretna; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ned and Barbara Franklin of Gretna; four grandchildren, Valerie Tyree and her husband Kyle, Ashley Archer and her husband, Travis, Becky Wheeler and her husband, Nick, and Malorie Moore; eleven great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wheeler, Parker Tyree, John Compton, Jaykob Compton, Kassie Moore, James Jr. Moore, Cody Moore, Kasper Saunders, Noah Saunders, Brylei Saunders, and Titan Saunders; and a devoted cousin, C.A. Doss and his wife, Sharon.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Gary Phillips. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, May 19, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, David and Bonnie Franklin, 6729 Rockford School Road, Gretna.
