Altavista…….Larry Anthony Owens, age 25 of Altavista died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his residence.
Born November 21, 1986 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Edward (Stoney) Owens and his wife, Penny of the residence, and the late Bernice Ann Wade Matherly. He was also predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Larry Wade. He enjoyed playing the guitar and playing in bands; he also enjoyed art work, reading, and hanging out with his friends
In addition to his father and step-mother, he is survived by three brothers, Jeromy Owens of Altavista, Dusty Owens of Altavista, and Tristan Owens of Altavista; one step-sister, Tabitha Moore of Altavista; two step-brothers, Jamie Moore of Altavista, and Josh Hoefle of Hurt; his paternal grandfather, Paul E. Owens of Altavista; his paternal grandmother, Brenda Divers of Rocky Mount; his maternal grandmother, Annie Wade of Hurt; and his maternal great-grandmother, Katie Keatts of Gretna.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Wade Family Cemetery by Rev. Brady Willis.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his father and step-mother, Edward (Stoney) and Penny Owens, 407 Myrtle Lane, Altavista.
