Chatham……….Kevin Michael Irby, age 45 of Chatham died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence.
Born January 8, 1969 in Lynchburg he was a son of Janet West Irby of Hurt and Maynard M. Irby and his wife, Betty S. Irby of Hurt. Mr. Irby was a truck driver. He loved music, playing pool, and being back in the woods.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one step-sister, Susan McCormick and her husband, Walter of Hurt; one niece, Courtney Rae McCormick; his cat, "Dianne"; and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Brady Willis. Burial will follow in Mount Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his mother, Janet West Irby, 115 West Spencer Road, Hurt.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to New Prospect Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 547 Hurt, VA 24563 and to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24501.
