Gretna…..Kenneth (Kenny) Wayne Moore, age 51 of Gretna died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born August 5, 1963 in Bedford he was a son of Les Moore and his wife Thelma of Hurt and Joyce Jenkins of Gretna. He was predeceased by his wife, Debbie Adams Moore and his grandparents, David and Missouri Moore and Herbert and Pearl Jenkins. He was a former employee of BGF Textiles. Kenny was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a son, Christopher Wayne Moore of Lexington, KY; a daughter, Kim Custer of Gretna; two brothers, Rodney Moore of Gretna and Timothy Moore of Lynchburg; one sister, Annette Shelton of Gretna; and his beloved dog, "Chubbs".
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. Jason Andrews.
The family will receive from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Vickie Conner for her unceasing caregiving during Kenny's last weeks and to Cecilia M. MacCallum, M.D. and the rest of the staff at Lynchburg Hematology and Oncology for the wonderful treatment during his declining health. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
