Hurt………Kenneth Howard Varnadore, age 70 of Hurt passed away Friday, June 26, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born October 5, 1955 in Altavista, he was a son of the late William Henry  Varnadore and Louise Paggans Varnadore.  He was also predeceased by one brother, John William "Bill" Varnadore.

For many years he worked alongside his Daddy in the service department of the Chevrolet dealership in Altavista.  For the last 22 years he was a dedicated employee at Southern Air in Lynchburg where he and his brother Keith worked together every day.  One of the perks of working with Keith was the breakfast and lunch that Keith's wife Beverly packed for the both of them.

Kenneth is remembered for his big heart of gold.  He lived a simple life and found great joy in giving to the ones he loved.  He was a lifetime Richard Petty fan and enjoyed watching sports and television shows from the past.

He is survived by one son, Kendall Varnadore (Becky) of Hurt; one brother, Keith Varnadore and wife, Beverly of Hurt; his beloved granddaughter, McKenzie Varnadore; one great-grandson, Hudson Hollifield; a sister-in-law, Shirley Varnadore; one step-daughter, Kristi Lambert; and his best friend who he nicknamed "Monk" years ago.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Green Lawn Cemetery by Pastor W.L. Pillow.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
