Hurt……….Kenneth Taylor Saunders, age 89 of Hurt, died Monday, April 21, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 20, 1936 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late Claude Taylor Saunders and Irma Milam Saunders.  He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Taylor Saunders.  Mr. Saunders was a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired from VDOT.  He was a NASCAR fan; and enjoyed working on old cars and farming.

He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Wayne Saunders of Hurt and Tim Saunders of Hurt; one daughter, Elizabeth Simpson and husband, Ricky of Altavista; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a precious friend who brought so much love and joy to his life, Nancy Edwards of Danville.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Kyle Uselton.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
