Gretna………Kenneth Joseph Shelhorse, Sr., age 80 of Gretna died Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born October 30, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Hugh Daniel Shelhorse and Mary Johnson Shelhorse.  He was predeceased by one brother, Glen Shelhorse; and one sister, Shelba Shelhorse.  Kenneth was a 1964 graduate of Virginia Tech and he was an electrician.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth "Ken" Shelhorse, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Roanoke; three brothers, Dan Shelhorse and wife, Betty of Gretna, Barney Shelhorse and wife, Frances of Gretna, and Mike Shelhorse and wife, Jennifer of Tennessee; one sister, Mary Alice Habig of Illinois; and one grandson, Blake Chitwood of Bradenton, Florida.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. Jason Andrews.
