Gretna, VA…….Kenneth Gene Dalton, age 78 of Gretna died Sunday, November 22, 2020.

Born August 3, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Martin Murphy Dalton and Mittie Estelle Rowland Dalton.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Carroll Dalton, and Oliver Dalton; and three sisters, Melba Pearson, Jeanette Dalton, and Barbara Dalton.  Mr. Dalton was an Air Force Veteran. He was a stand-out in high school athletics, especially in track, baseball, and basketball.  He was on the Gretna Connie Mack baseball team that went to the World Series in 1959.  He was also on the Air Force baseball team that won a World Series in Japan.  He loved golf, and he was an avid tennis player, still playing at the age of 75.  He was devoted to helping his family, friends, and neighbors.

He is survived by four sisters, Anne Bryant of Manassas, Earline Mann and husband, Bill of Elon, NC, Patsy Talbert of Roanoke, and Karen Bronaugh and husband, John of Christiansburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held.
