Keith Edward Myers, age 54 of Hurt, died Thursday, November 17, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 23, 1968, the son of William and Peggy Myers of Hurt, VA. Keith graduated from Gretna High School, Class of 1986. Following graduation, he was employed as an outside salesman for Ferebee-Johnson Company, for whom he considered family. He was also formerly a co-owner and operator of the Alta Shoe Shop in Altavista, VA.

He was married to Jo Ann Myers of Hurt, VA. Keith was a devout and dedicated member of Monte Vista Baptist Church. He joyfully served as a deacon, Sunday School Director and teacher, choir member and member of the Praise Band. He also, served as Associational Sunday School Director for the Staunton River Baptist Association. Keith's top three priorities in life were God, Church and Family.

Keith was 'one of a kind' and truly never met a stranger. He loved ministering to others even throughout his illness. He prayed with all of his doctors and nurses and used his life as a ministry to the wonders of God's love for us all, having a profound impact on the lives of those who knew him. Keith loved playing ball and taking his girls fishing.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Sydnor and Annie Myers and his maternal grandparents, Lewis and Ollie Waller. In addition to his wife, Jo Ann Myers, and his parents, William and Peggy Myers; he is survived by his daughters, Sydney Johnson (Kyler), and Raegan Myers; his stepdaughters, Sarah Scruggs, Mary Ann Scruggs and Beth Scruggs; his brother Michael Myers IJpenberg (Frank); his sister, Wendy Payne (Matt); nephew, Avery Payne; niece, Caroline Payne; grandson, Ryker Johnson; mother-in-law, Joyce Rice and sister-in-law Pamela Chandler (Richard); as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, November 19th, 2022 at Monte Vista Baptist Church – 1737 Grit Road, Hurt, VA, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

A Celebration of life will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, November 20 ^th , 2022 at Monte Vista Baptist Church by Rev. Eddie Graves and Rev. Latta Terry, with interment to follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Altavista, VA.

Those who wish to remember Keith in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and Monte Vista Baptist Church.
