Gretna…..Katina Annette Sowell, age 38 of Gretna died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her residence.
Born January 16, 1973 in Lynchburg, she was a daughter of Robert Wingfield Sowell, Jr. and Joan Cocke Sowell of Altavista. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Carroll and Cora Cocke, and her paternal grandparents, Robert Wingfield Sowell, Sr. and Margaret Sowell. She worked at the Colonial Restaurant and Kountry Kitchen; and she loved her cats, especially Punkin, and playing with her nieces.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four brothers, David R. Preas and his wife, Renae of Altavista, Tony R. Preas of Huddleston, Mark T. Preas of Altavista, and Michael D. Sowell of Altavista; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Matt Alford. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of her parents, Robert and Joan Sowell, 229 Eastward Drive, Altavista.
