Gretna…….Katie Lee Hunt Jackson, age 84 of 3580 Brights Road, Gretna died Friday, February 14, 2014 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born October 7, 1929 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Felix Bennett Hunt and Gladys Katherine Johnson Hunt. Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by her husband, Earl Lee Jackson; and a daughter, Vickie Lynn Jackson. She was a member of Summersett Baptist Church and retired from Klopman. Mrs. Jackson enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and watching red birds and squirrels. She also enjoyed babysitting her kids, and loved her cats.
She is survived by two sons, Mark Jackson and his wife, Brenda of Gretna, and Carl Jackson and his wife, Marie of Gretna; one daughter, Kathy Haskins and her husband, Glenn of Gretna; two sisters, Norma June Austin and her husband, John of Chester, MD, and Joyce Sardella and her husband, Marty of Gretna; four grandchildren, Ellen Whitlow and her husband, Ed, Jill Haskins, Karen Jackson, and Shannon Richardson and her husband, David; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Cox, and Trista Richardson; and special friends, Kaylee Barker, and Cody Cash.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews and Pastor John Austin. Burial will follow in Summersett Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
