Altavista…….Kathryn Slusher Searcy, age 92 of Altavista died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Guggenheimer Health and Rehab Center.
Born May 13, 1925 in Bedford, she was a daughter of the late Everette Clarence Slusher, Sr. and Mary Frances Snead Slusher. She was predeceased by her husband, Leo Isam Searcy; two sons, Steven Searcy and Daniel Searcy; and a brother, Everette Clarence Slusher, Jr. Mrs. Searcy was a former employee of Leggett's Department Store. She enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Stuart Searcy of Forest, and Everett Searcy of Altavista; two daughters, Beverly Searcy Doss and husband, James of Altavista and Susan Searcy Vaughan and husband, Robert of Hurt; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Private graveside service was conducted at Green Hill Cemetery.
