Gretna………Katherine Gay Jewell, age 56 of Gretna died Friday, March 2, 2018 at her residence.

Born July 24, 1961 in Fredericksburg, she was a daughter of Mary Rose and husband, Robert of Gretna and the late Willie Jewell, Sr. She was predeceased by one sister, Melissa Bannister. Katherine had blue eyes and a beautiful smile. She enjoyed listening to music on the radio, swimming, housekeeping, picking her favorite friends, developing her own method of calming herself, and designing her own tappers.

In addition to her mother and step-father, she is survived by seven brothers and sisters, Melvin Hoar, Sr., William Blair Jewell, Margaret Jewell Arrowood, Willie Jewell, Jr., Woodrow Wayne Jewell, Mike Jewell and Teresa Hall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2018 in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by President Kevin Ashment.

Special thank you to her care givers, Glenda Keen, Stephanie Stone, Angie Culbertson, Catina Davis, Machiko Boone, Dean Ewing, Stacey Dalton, LaTeisha Moss, Angela Tucker, Darlene Doss and all the other staff that worked with Katherine.
