Chatham..…..Stover Henry "Junior" Towler, Jr., age 78 of Chatham died Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born June 24, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Stover Henry Towler, Sr. and Elma Custer Towler.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Cecil Towler, Melvin Towler, Clyde Towler, and Tommy Towler; one son-in-law, Brad McCutchen; and one step-great-grandchild.  Mr. Towler was a member of Greenbay Christian Church and he was a farmer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and jimmying around.  He was the unofficial Mayor of Climax and a legend in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Towler of Chatham; two daughters, Sarah Stewart and husband, Randy of Chatham, and Misty McCutchen of Chatham; two brothers, J.D. Towler of Blairs, and Bobby Towler and wife, Carolyn of Chatham; two grandchildren, Sonny, and Jessica (Brian); one great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren, and twelve step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Wagner Family Cemetery by Pastor Barry Cundiff.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residences of both of his daughters.
