Hurt……….John "Junior" Richard Robertson, Jr., age 76 of Hurt died Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born November 15, 1939 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late John Richard Robertson, Sr. and Corine Cox Robertson. He was predeceased by three brothers, James Garland Robertson, Francis "Duck" Robertson and Almer Robertson; and three sisters, Joyce Reynolds, Mary Robertson and Margaret Rowland. Mr. Robertson attended Motley United Methodist Church. He enjoyed mechanical work, woodworking and taking care of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Karin Pietzsch-Robertson of the residence; two sons, Michael Robertson and wife, Donna of Hurt and Ralf Pietzsch and wife, Dawn of Manchester, TN; one daughter, Michaela Pietzsch of Hurt; two brothers, Oscar Robertson and wife, Elisabeth of Hurt and Roger Robertson of Hurt; one sister, Inez Keen and husband, William of Hurt; five grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Marissa Jordan and husband, Jeremy; and many nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sabine Barker.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Robertson Family Cemetery by Ronnie Simpson.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
