Junior Betterton

Gretna..........Floyd Junior Betterton, age 80 of 4728 Renan Road, Gretna died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born February 24, 1930 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late, William Warren Betterton and Sadie Murphy Betterton. He was predeceased by four brothers, J.W. Betterton, Rufus Betterton, Ben Betterton, and Paul Betterton; three sisters, Nellie Jones, Ada Yeatts and Mildred Reaves. Mr. Betterton was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church, a farmer, a former school bus driver and a former store operator.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Booth Betterton of the residence; one son, Rickey Betterton and wife, Kim of Gretna; one daughter, Jane Betterton Tribble and husband Wayne of Nathalie; one brother, James Betterton of Nathalie; three sisters, Louise Meadows of Chatham, Juanita Bush of Eden, NC and Peggy Tickle of Danville; three grandchildren, Angela Tribble, Susan McLaughlin, and Samantha Betterton; one great-grandchild, Colby Clay.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Mulberry Baptist Church by Rev. Robert Townsend. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
