Gretna…..Edward Junior Barbour, age 79 of Gretna died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

Born October 15, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Julian Wilson Barbour and Lizzie Haskins Barbour.  He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence "Pete" Barbour.  Junior was a member of Christian Life Church and he retired from Klopman.  Mr. Barbour had a dry sense of humor; and he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, working on old cars, working outdoors, NASCAR, watching old westerns, and spending time with his little dog, "Cooper."

He is survived by his wife, Debra Simpson Barbour of Gretna; one son, Tracy Barbour of Hurt; one daughter, Jennifer Dalton and husband, Jacob Pruitt of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Dotsie Reynolds and husband, Roger of Pittsville; four grandchildren, Blake Barbour, Amelia Carchia, Virginia Paige Pruitt, and Jordan Pruitt; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Christian Life Church by Rev. Michael Turner.  Burial will follow in the Simpson Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Christian Life Church.
