Hurt…..Velma June (Grandma June) Henry, age 73 of Hurt died Friday, October 18, 2013 at her residence.
Born March 26, 1940 in Dickenson County she was a daughter of the late James Elba Mullins and Beulah Mullins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Vada Faye Mallison, Betty Jo Mullins, and Watheda Mullins; and two brothers, Damon Mullins, and Paul Mullins. She was a caregiver, and enjoyed taking care of children whether they were hers or others; she welcomed them all into her home.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Henry of Scottsburg, Joseph Henry of Stafford, and Gage Henry of Stafford; eight daughters, Tammie Burgreen of Altavista, Rhonda Barabach of Lynch Station, Linda Ferguson of Hurt, Jill Ross of Belleview, FL, Kala McKenna of Gretna, Mariah Walden of Hurt, Haley Wright of Stafford, and Amber Felice of Hurt; three brothers, Freddie Mullins of Deltaville, Allen Mullins of Kingsland, GA, and Danny Mullins of Horseshoe Bend, AR; four sisters, Ruby Latty of Baldwin, MI, Janet Marshall of Gretna, Teresa Burgess of Biloxi, MI, and Anne Hollandsworth of Gloucester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Brady Willis.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2013 at Windsor Gardens Cemetery in Dutton, VA by Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth.
