Julianne Annelie Thoma Parker, age 92 of Hurt, Virginia, passed from this life into her heavenly home on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born in Kulmbach, Germany, on September 13, 1931, the daughter of Josef and Gretel Thoma. Julianne moved to the United States in 1952 after marrying Fred M. Parker, a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Julianne spent most of her married life in the Savannah, Georgia area where she was a homemaker and the mother of four children.

Julianne was a member of the West End Church of Christ in Gretna, Virginia. She also was a charter member of Westside Christian Church and Rincon Christian Church where she served as a Vacation Bible School teacher, Sunday School teacher, Ladies Bible study teacher, and sang in the church choir.

Affectionately known as Omi by her great-grandchildren, Omi enjoyed sharing stories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren from her childhood living in Germany. One of their favorite stories is when she met her husband inside a castle on a hill in her hometown.

Julianne enjoyed cooking and was known as a wonderful cook by her family and church friends. She also loved working with her plants and flowers. She was an avid reader until her eyesight deteriorated in her later years. She enjoyed reading her Bible and Christian romance novels.

Julianne was predeceased by her parents, Josef and Gretel Thoma; her husband, Fred M. Parker; her daughter, Pamela Parker Beauvais; a grandchild, Julianne Parker; and a great grandchild, Claire Parker.

Julianne is survived by three sons, Tony Parker and wife, Melissa of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Randy Parker and wife, Valerie of Hurt, Virginia, and Joseph Parker and wife, Susan of Guyton, Georgia; a son in law, Ernie Beauvais of Morehead City, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Parker and wife, Becky, Gretchen Wiggs and husband, Aaron, Daniel Fisher and wife, Nicki, Megan Brown and husband, Shane, Jordan Parker and wife, Connie, Cody Parker, and Nick Parker; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. by Randy Parker, Minister.

Burial will be held at Effingham Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Georgia at a later date.
