Gretna……Judy Crider Simpson, age 77 of Gretna died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at her residence.

Born August 5, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Allen Crider, Sr. and Clara Brumfield Crider.  She was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence "Punk" Crider, Jr. and Joe Crider; and two sisters, Elna Koch and Joyce Crider.  She was a member of Round Pond Baptist Church and a former clerk at Whittles Quick Stop.  Judy loved everybody; and enjoyed bowling, dancing, tanning at the beach, and going to car races.

She is survived by three sons, Dean Matherly of Dry Fork, Ricky Matherly of Penhook, and Chris Matherly of Gretna; one daughter, Rhonda Shelton and husband, Carl of Hurt; one sister, Helen Hunt and husband, Billy of Gretna; four grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
