Gretna…….Juanita Vedder Wilkes, age 86 of Gretna died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born June 4, 1926 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Jesse M. (Booker) Vedder and Atwood Dalton Vedder. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Wilkes; three sisters, Frances Beane, Myrtle Beazley, Viola Amos; and one brother, Oscar (Doc) Vedder. She was a member of Gretna Christian Church and was a home maker. Mrs. Wilkes enjoyed reading, puzzles, cooking, and dancing.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Dwight Mays. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
