Gretna……….Joyce Hunt Vasser Sardella, age 85 of Gretna passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born August 11, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Felix Bennett Hunt and Gladys Katherine Johnson Hunt.  She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Wayne Vasser; and two sisters, Katie Jackson and Norma Austin.  Mrs. Sardella was payroll clerk with Pluma; and a member of Summersett Baptist Church having served as church treasurer for over 40 years.  She was a dedicated Christian; and enjoyed cooking, watching QVC and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Martin J. Sardella of Gretna; one daughter, Rita Montgomery and husband, Todd of Cascade; three grandchildren, Samuel Montgomery, Shannon Richardson and husband, David Richardson III and Carrie Barker; and two great-grandchildren, Trista Richardson and Anthony Richardson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
