Pittsville………Joyce Wilfred Shoup Witcher, age 75 of Pittsville, died Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 5, 1945 in Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Francis Peck Shoup and Lillian Elizabeth Marbut Shoup.  She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm "Mickey" Hunt Witcher; one brother, John Fitzgerald; and one sister, Fran Sterling.  Mrs. Witcher was a member of Sheva Church of Christ, and she was a teacher's assistant with the Pittsylvania County School System. She worked at Gretna Elementary School and enjoyed making crafts.

She is survived by one son, Derek Daniel Witcher and wife, Melissa of Whitesburg, GA; three grandchildren, Corey Starks and wife, Bre, Kaytlyn Cochran and husband, Austin, and Gybson Witcher; and two great-grandchildren, Stella Starks, and Ember Cochran.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Gretna Elementary School by Dennis Tucker and Rev. Corey Starks. Burial will follow in the Witcher Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
