Chatham………Joshua Jacob "Bubba" Mitchell, Jr. age 17 of Chatham died Monday, September 13, 2021.

Born April 18, 2004 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Josh Mitchell, Sr. and wife, Shelley of Chatham and Wendy Mitchell of Gretna.  He loved his dogs and doing anything outdoors, including motocross racing, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Blake Crouch and wife, Christina of Gretna, Lucas Jefferson of Gretna, and Zach Hendricks of Gretna; three sisters, Jessie Mitchell of Gretna, Jessica Haskins and husband, Patrick of Gretna, and Katelyn Jefferson of Gretna; paternal grandparents, Matt Mitchell, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Debbie McKinney of Gretna; maternal grandmother, Sandra Walden of Gretna; one niece, Blakely Crouch; cousins, Matt Mitchell IV and Kelsie Mitchell; and his girlfriend, Savanna Marano of Gretna.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews with a private burial to follow.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Pittsylvania County Pet Center, 11880 U.S. Highway 29 Chatham, VA 24531.
