Lynchburg………Joshua "Josh" Monroe Hughes, age 49 of Lynchburg passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 at Wyndhurst Health and Rehab of Lynchburg.

Born May 22, 1977 in Denver, Colorado he was a son of the late Sonny Hughes and Joyce Ruth Rowland.  Josh was a landscape painter and writer.  He loved music and was a fan of the band, Kiss.  He also enjoyed movies, especially horror films.

He is survived by one son, Nicolas Monroe Hughes of Lynchburg; two daughters, Maria-Grace Casto and husband, Christopher of Lynchburg and Isabella Victoria Hughes of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Jackson-Atlas Casto and Louie-Arthur Casto.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
