Gretna…..Josephine Robertson Keen, age 81 of Gretna died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 as the result of a train accident.
Born November 2, 1933 in Campbell County she was a daughter of the late John Robert Robertson and Mary Emma Lewis Robertson. She was predeceased by her husband, David Randolph Keen; a son, Timothy Arthur; and three brothers, Robert C. Robertson, George R. Robertson, Sr., and Raleigh Robertson. Mrs. Keen was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gretna Branch and was a home maker. She enjoyed gardening, canning, freezing, the outdoors and her dog "Blackie."
She is survived by a step-daughter, Nancy K. Standley of Danville; one brother, John W. Robertson of Hurt; one sister, Margaret R. Johnson of Hurt; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ronnie & Elizabeth Bailess, Carroll & Loretta Bailess and Wayne & Lois Wheeler.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by President Raymond Elliott. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Gretna Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 14, Gretna, VA 24557 and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gretna Branch.
