Hurt………John Kent "Johnny" Riggleman, Sr., age 76 of Hurt died Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born October 17, 1947 in Galax, he was a son of the late Mason Harrison Riggleman, and Clara Carter Riggleman Rowland.  He was predeceased by one brother, Keith Riggleman; and two sisters, Mary Lou Alley, and Nora Lee Howell.  Mr. Riggleman retired from the Lane Company, and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served in Vietnam, and was awarded the Purple Heart, and Bronze Star for his service.  He was a jack of all trades; and enjoyed Blue Grass Music, fishing, and helping others.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Ayers Riggleman of the residence; one son, John K. Riggleman, Jr. of Hurt; one daughter, Tonya Riggleman of Altavista; three sisters, Ann Goad and husband, Raymond of Gretna, Edna Norcutt and husband, Dan Dunkel of Hurt, and Ellen Roach of Hurt; one granddaughter, Alexia Ratcliff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Altavista Memorial Park Mausoleum by Kenneth Howell.
