Java………Johnny Mac Hogan, age 73 of Java, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.

Born May 6, 1950 in Franklin County, he was a son of the late Carl Bennett Hogan and Kathleen Dudley Hogan.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Dalton, and Joanne Perdue.  Johnny was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a diesel mechanic.  He was a member of Round Pond Baptist Church.  The most important things in his life were his faith and his family.  He enjoyed going dancing every week.

He is survived by two daughters, Amanda Berger and husband, Andy of Chatham, and Leslie Hiatt and husband, James of Java; one son, Matt Hogan of Java; two brothers, Bobby Hogan and wife, Marie of Java, and Ricky Hogan and wife, Janet of Gretna; one sister, Kathy Shelton of Gretna; five grandchildren, Brett, Emma, Nicholas, Jayden, ad Corey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Round Pond Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Hogan.  Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
