Gretna……….Johnny Edward English, age 63 of Gretna died Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 8, 1957 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Marie Simpson English of Gretna and the late Johnnie David English.  He was predeceased by a brother, Al English.  Johnny was a faithful member of Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church and he was employed by BGF Industries.  He enjoyed all sports, especially tennis, bowling, and softball.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, David English of Gretna; one sister, Cindy Berger and husband, Henry of Gretna; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2021 at Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery by Rev. Dennis Nichols, Keith Myers, and William Myers.
