Gretna………John Ramsey Wilson, age 75 of Gretna died Monday, January 31, 2022 at his residence.

Born April 7, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late John Anthony Wilson and Dorothy Mabel Rowland Wilson.  He was predeceased by his step-mother, Sally T. Wilson.  Mr. Wilson was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and he retired from BWXT.  He was a U.S Army Veteran of the Vietnam era.  Mr. Wilson enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening; and he loved his three fur babies, "Candy," "Pup" and "Rosie."

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Teresa Matherly Wilson of the residence; one son, Ramsey Anthony Wilson and wife, Sonya of Gretna; one daughter, Annette W. Cook and husband, Duane of Gretna; one brother, Richard Anthony Wilson and wife, Ella of Gretna; one sister, Theta J. Wilson of Gretna; an uncle, Morgan Rowland of Gretna; and three grandsons, Benjamin J. Wolford of North Carolina, Matthew R. Wolford of North Carolina, and Daniel Cook of Gretna.

Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Piney Grove Baptist Church by Pastor Matthew Speck.  Military Honors by the United States National Guard.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
