Hurt………John William "Bill" Varnadore, age 63 of Hurt, died Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born July 16, 1960 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late William Henry Varnadore, and Louise Paggans Varnadore.  Mr. Varnadore was the owner/operator of Varnadore Floor Sanding.  He was a big Alabama football fan; and enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley King Varnadore of the residence; one son, Michael King and wife, Robin of Chatham; three daughters, Elizabeth Rice of Evington, Rebecca Lucy of Altavista, and Angela Varnadore of Altavista; two brothers, Kenneth Varnadore of Hurt, and Keith Varnadore and wife, Beverly of Hurt; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, 2 pm at the residence of his daughter - 328 10th St., Altavista, VA.
