Sandy Level……….John Wayne Thomas, age 69 of Sandy Level died Monday, January 6, 2014 at his residence.
Born September 1, 1944 he was a son of the late John Holland Thomas, Jr. and Celesture Hardy Thomas. Mr. Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Blair Thomas. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam; and was a retired supervisor with Appalachian Power. Mr. Thomas enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, and shooting.
He is survived by one son, Lacy Thomas and his wife, Laurie of Sandy Level; one daughter, Stacy Hedrick and her husband, Greg of Sandy Level; one brother, Carl Lee Thomas of Forest; and three grandchildren, Chelsea Thomas, Kathryn Thomas, and Jonathan Hedrick.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Liberty Memorial Cemetery by Wayne Grinnell, Minister.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
