Gretna…..John Allen Roach, age 55 of Gretna died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 22, 1963 in Danville, he was a son of Fitz and Ann Roach of Gretna.  Mr. Roach was predeceased by a brother-in-law, John Dolan.  He was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was an employee of Lawrence Distributing.  He enjoyed working wine festivals, watching ball games, music, going to concerts, fishing and going to the beach.

In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Debbie Dolan of Gretna; two brothers, Lee Roach and wife, Cindy of Danville and Scott Roach and wife, Debra of Danville; nine nieces and nephews, Josh Roach and Connie, Beth Roach and Jeff, Angie Tyree and John, Adam Giles, Rev. Joey Giles, Jr. and Tiffany, Rianna Roach, Kaelyn Roach, Josh Soffriti and Emily, and P.J. Soffriti; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Lynn Marstin and Rev. Joseph Giles, Jr.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pittsylvania Pet Center in care of Lynchburg Humane Society Development Department, 1211 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
