Gretna…..John Henry Pieper, age 64 of Gretna died Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born July 16, 1949 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was a son of the late Hans Henry Pieper and Betty Jane Trimmer Pieper. He was predeceased by a brother, Tommy Pieper. Mr. Pieper was of the Methodist Faith and Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was an employee of Times Fiber. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, mowing grass, and was a big Gretna Hawks football fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Pieper of the residence; one son, Keith Pieper of Gretna; one daughter, Heather Pieper Dalton and her husband, Michael of Gretna; two brothers, Robert Pieper and his wife, Elaine of Rapid City, SD, and Kevin Pieper and his friend Debbie of Phillipsburg, NJ; three sisters, Ann Bauer and her husband, James of Bloomsbury, NJ, Karen Gares and her friend Anthony of Phillipsburg, NJ, and Cindy Pieper of Phillipsburg, NJ; and four grandchildren, Cole Dalton, Samantha Dalton, Brenn Pieper, and Preston Pieper.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M., Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Michael Dalton, 302 Sandy Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
Per his requests there will be no public service.
