Gretna……….John Henry (Jack) Power, age 86 of Gretna died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
Born March 13, 1925 in the Renan community of Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late John Todd Power and Tiny Reynolds Power. Mr. Power was predeceased by his wife of over twenty-three years, Erline Rowland Power and a son, John Robert (Bob) Power. Jack was a lifelong member of Midway Baptist Church and was a Lane Company employee for 40 years. He was a member of Anderson Lodge #258 A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by one son, Randall Todd Power of Madison Heights; one daughter, Ginger Power and husband, John A. Jones of Virginia Beach; one sister, Gay Power Mitchell and husband, Roger of Mechanicsville; five grandchildren, Todd Power, Andrew Power, Emily Power, Kelly Jones and Katie Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Lynn Marstin and Rev. R.G. Rowland. Burial with Masonic Rites by Anderson Lodge 258 A.F. & A.M. will follow in Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 to 11a.m.) Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Midway Baptist Church.
