Gretna…..John James Dolan, Jr. age 64 of Gretna passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at his residence.
Born August 19, 1950 in Lynchburg he was a son of the late, John James Dolan, Sr. and Elizabeth Webber Dolan. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Roger Dolan and Dennis Dolan. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed in the printing trade for most of his life. John enjoyed cutting wood and was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the Gretna Hawks. He was a Christian, a Baptist and a member of Midway Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years Debbie Roach Dolan; four sons, John James (Jay) Dolan III, Anthony Wayne Dolan, Rev. Joseph Giles, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, and Adam Giles; one brother, George Dolan; three sisters, Mary Abbott, Linda Wilkins and Ruth Dodson; and three grandchildren, Skyler Dolan, A.J. Dolan and Mia Garcia.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Midway Baptist Church by Rev. Lynn Marstin, Rev. Joseph Giles, Jr. and Ricky Hogan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
