Evington……….John J. Adams, age 75 of 58 Magaron Lane, Evington was gently lifted by the Angels into the Arms of his Savior on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.
Born September 1, 1937 in Sandy Level, he was a son of the late Willie Vaden Adams and Bertha Swain Adams. Mr. Adams was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. He was a plumber and enjoyed fishing, wood working and picking his guitar.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Jean Dunn Adams of the residence; two sons, John H. Adams of Lewisburg, WV, and Billy W. Adams (Robbie) of Altavista; two daughters, Debra Adams (Alan) of Evington and Bridgett Hudson (Juan) of Evington; one brother, Delano Adams of Gretna; two sisters, Annie Kate Clingenpeel of Martinsville, and Dora Lee White of Cartersville, GA; seven grandchildren, Derrick Adams, Crystal Ballowe (Terry), Bill Adams (Jen), Dylan Adams (Sheri), Aaron Epperson, Ashley Hubbard (John), and Stevie Hudson (Shelly); and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Mike Dodson. Burial will follow in the Swain-Adams Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
