Halifax…….Joseph Silas "Joe" Goodwin, age 51 of Halifax died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born March 12, 1970 in New York, he was a son of Mary Goodwin Cox of Altavista and the late Floyd James Goodwin.  Mr. Goodwin was a mechanic and the owner/operator of Joe's Truck and Equipment.  He enjoyed working on trucks and equipment.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Harlee Goodwin of Evington and Grace Goodwin of Altavista; his significant other, Catherine Martinette of Halifax; one brother, Mike Goodwin of Lynch Station; one sister, Karen Goodwin of Altavista; a friend who was like a brother, Gerald Layne; and a friend who was like a son, Conrad Boswell.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Evington by Pastor David Place.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Evington and other times will be at the residence of his daughter, Harlee Goodwin, 1069 Johnson Mountain Road, Evington.
