Gretna.........Joseph "Joe" Marshall Crider, age 71 of Gretna, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born November 9, 1946 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Clarence Allen Crider, Sr. and Clara Brumfield Crider.  He was predeceased by one brother, Clarence "Punk" Crider, Jr. and two sisters, Elna Koch and Joyce Crider.  Mr. Crider was a proud Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Gretna Post 232.   He was a retired truck driver; and loved card games and antique cars.  He also loved his furry friends, Boo and Misty.

He is survived by his wife of over 49 years, Irene Petty Crider of the residence; two sisters, Judy Simpson of Gretna and Helen Hunt and husband, Billy of Gretna; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.  Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
