Gretna………JoAnn Kendrick Tyler, age 65 of Gretna died Thursday, May 25, 2023 at UVA Medical Center.

Born May 29, 1957 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Kenneth Kendrick, Sr. and Edith Catherine Mayhew Kendrick. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles K. Kendrick, Jr. and Michael Kendrick; and one sister, Yvonne Allgood.  Mrs. Tyler was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church and she retired from Pittsylvania County Schools.  She enjoyed reading, cooking and being "Nana" and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Tyler of the residence; one son, Charlie Tyler (Emily Tyler) of Gretna; one daughter, Catherine Tyler (Tiffany Tyler) of Gretna; one brother, Gerald Kendrick of Danville; and five grandchildren, Harper, Sawyer, Wynston, Willow and Hayden.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Greenfield Baptist Church by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Greenfield Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence.
