Jimmy Wayne Thompson

Gretna…..Jimmy Wayne Thompson, age 56 of 538 Piney Fork Acres Dr., Gretna died Friday, December 7, 2012.
Born March 21, 1956 in Pittsylvania County he was the son of Thelma Hammack Thompson and the late Richard Thornton Thompson. He was also predeceased by a brother, Johnny Ray Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church and was an employee at BGF Industries, in Altavista and Kelloggs. He also enjoyed flea markets, auto body work on cars, riding four wheelers, and making people laugh.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Traci Hudson Thompson of the residence; one daughter, Kelly Thompson Sanchez of Gretna; one son, Christopher Wayne Thompson of Biloxi, MS where he is stationed with the U.S. Air Force; four sisters, Peggy Cook of Gretna, Christine Freeman of Danville, Nancy Cordani of Oak Ridge, TN, and Betty Jean Horner of Colonial Heights; one brother, Donald (Duck) Thompson of Gretna; two grandchildren, Blake Alan Sanchez and Madison Noel Sanchez; and his best friend, Glen Fox of Gretna.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Open Bible Baptist Church by Pastor Tim Kyser and Rev. R.G. Rowland.
The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his daughter, Kelly Thompson Sanchez, 210 Dalton St., Gretna.
