Halifax……….Jimmie Huston Bennett, age 76 of Halifax died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab Center.
Born March 5, 1936 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Jimmie Lionel Bennett and Elizabeth Maude Bailess Bennett. He was predeceased by a step-son, Wayne Weatherford, and a brother, Clyde Morgan Bennett. Mr. Bennett was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Burlington Industries. He enjoyed car racing, fishing, and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Weatherford Bennett of the residence; two brothers, James Steven Bennett of Hurt, and Phillip Marshall Bennett of Hurt; and one sister, Peggy Bennett Farmer of Madison Heights.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lynnie Doss. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
