Jetta Lynne Morgan, beloved wife, sister, Gram, nurse, friend, animal lover, and adventurer, passed peacefully at home with her "Sweet Sherri" by her side.

Born on January 24, 1963, in Pearisburg, Virginia, Jetta remained deeply connected to Giles County, the place she always called home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jackie Jones Morgan Taylor and Harvey G. Morgan Sr.; her bonus parents, Tommy Taylor and Jeanette Anderson Morgan; her mother-in-law, Nancy Keesee Andrews; and her bonus sister, Wendy Salmon.

Her memory will be cherished by her wife, Sherri Andrews Morgan; her brothers, Harvey "Sam" Morgan Jr. and his wife, Stefanie, Harvey "Blu" Morgan III his wife, Shelley; her nephews, Jared Morgan his wife, Taylor, Will Morgan, and Zack Morgan his girlfriend, Taylor Clay; her niece, Lilly Morgan; her bonus sisters, Teresa Reynolds her husband, Mike, and Cindy Irby her husband, Don, bonus brother-in-law, Jeff Salmon.

Jetta also held a special place in her heart for many aunts, uncles, including Richard and Hester Morgan, Judy Morgan, Betty Jo Jones, Aubrey "Jodie" Jones, Charles "Tinker" Walters, Cindy Fleshman, Jean Jones, Rudy and Juanita Jones, Lynn and Henry "HC" Rice, and Tony and Kathy Jones and many many cousins that she adored.

Through her marriage to Sherri, Jetta gained another family that became very much her own. She is remembered by her father-in-law, William "Bill" Andrews Sr.; her sisters-in-law, Stacey Bowers her husband, Ed, Shannon Monroe her husband, Jeff, and cousin Kimberly Dalton her husband, Mark; and brother-in-law, William "Burke" Andrews Jr.

Jetta embraced Sherri's children and grandchildren as her own: Shelley Mitchell her husband, Josh; Andrew Dolan his wife, Tara; and Samantha Collins. Grandchildren include Jessica Haskins her husband, Patrick; Zachary Hendricks his wife, Summer; Avery, Leah, and Collin Dolan; and her "ginger babies," Alayna and Charlie Collins, who lovingly called her Gram. She was also blessed to share in the joy of a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Joyce Haskins.

Sherri's nieces and nephews also were truly loved by Jetta as well. Nephews Corey Andrews, Jordan Keatts his wife Nichole and their children Phoenix, Carolynn, and Atlas, and Owen Andrews. Nieces Kaylie Wren, Lucie and Nina Andrews.

Beyond her family, Jetta's life was enriched by many treasured friends and extended family members, including Mrs. Lois Tackett, Debbie Gowen, Charles Collins and Louise Albis, Pastor Miriam Dakin, Donna Irvine, Lisa Curtis, Susan Cope, Joni McIvor, Todd Simpson, Candice Compton, Mike Dalton, Al Lester, Collin & Regina Adams, and her best friend and work "wife," as Jetta often called her, Anne Pribble.

Jetta had a remarkable gift for carrying friendships with her through every chapter of life. She remained close to childhood friends and classmates from Brookville High School's Class of 1981, including Tammy Clark, Pam Stevens-White, and Duane Tackett. Her nursing classmates from Lynchburg General Hospital's Class of 1989 also remained important to her: Kelley Brown, Annette Henderson, Mitzi Neighbors, Kelly Cecil, Kelly Riley, Crystal Billa, Kim Woods, Nancy Ayers, Donna Minney, Kim Story, and Colleen Toal. She also treasured the many friends she made throughout her nursing career, including Phoebe Knight, Susan Thompson, Sharon Whitted, Joyce Adams, Sylvia Denton, and far too many others to name individually. Jetta formed lasting bonds, and those who knew her felt the depth of her affection in return.

Animals held a special place in Jetta's heart. She could never pass by an animal in need without stopping to help. She made sure they were fed, cared for, and comforted, proudly embracing her title as a "cat lady." Animals seemed to recognize in Jetta the kindness and safety she offered so freely. She was also blessed by Mikayla Servis, Savannah Garrett, and Stephanie Fallen, who recently stepped up to give several of her cats new homes.

That same generous spirit shaped the way she enjoyed life. Jetta loved traveling and was always ready for whatever adventure Sherri planned next. Their train trips were among their favorite experiences, with the journey itself becoming part of the story. Even while away, Jetta thought of those at home. She enjoyed collecting pens, writing letters, and sending postcards, and she rarely missed a birthday or special occasion. A card from Jetta was a small but meaningful reminder that she had paused during her day to think of you.

She also enjoyed playing guitar, riding four-wheelers with family and friends, laughing, and savoring time with the people around her. Her humor and mischievous streak remained constants throughout her life. Her mother often told her she was "aggravating," and those who knew Jetta best would agree that this was one of the qualities that made her so endearing.

Jetta devoted many years to nursing and caring for others. Compassion was more than her profession; it was woven into her character. When she became a patient herself, she faced three years of living with colon cancer with remarkable resilience, courage, and the humor that never left her.

Jetta and Sherri were profoundly grateful for the compassionate care provided by the physicians, nurses, and staff at Pearson Cancer Center, especially Dr. G., Dr. Tebit, Shelley Pitzo NP, Taylor H., Brittany K., Dale D., and the hospice staff with Good Samaritan Hospice, as well as everyone who cared for Jetta with kindness and dignity.

Although cancer altered some of Jetta and Sherri's plans, it never defined their life together. They continued to travel, laugh, make memories, and face each day side by side. Jetta met the difficult moments with strength and warmth, always finding room for humor.

She will be remembered for her laughter, compassion, mischievous spirit, devotion to animals, enduring friendships, handwritten cards, adventurous heart, and the care she gave so freely. Her legacy continues through the family and friends who carry her memory, the lives she touched as a nurse, and the countless stories that still bring smiles.

When asked how she wanted to be remembered, Jetta answered simply: "Funny."

And she was—funny, compassionate, resilient, warm, and entirely one of a kind.

In keeping with Jetta's wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather, share stories, laugh together, and honor the remarkable woman they were privileged to know.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Jetta's memory are encouraged to show kindness to an animal in need, support a local animal rescue or shelter, send someone a handwritten card, take the trip they have been putting off, or simply make time for the people who matter—gestures that would have made Jetta smile.

Her family extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who prayed for Jetta, sent cards and messages, checked on her, shared in her journey, and surrounded both Jetta and Sherri with care throughout these past three years. Every kindness was felt, and every gesture made a difference.
